Wave Electric is a full-service commercial electrical contractor across Baldwin County, properly licensed and insured for commercial work in Alabama. Jimmy’s commercial resume runs from small retail tenant buildouts to full ground-up restaurant builds at the scale of a national QSR. If you’re a general contractor, a developer, a property owner, or a business owner planning a buildout, you’re working with someone who has done it before and knows how to keep a commercial schedule.
When you need this
- You’re a GC needing an electrical sub for new commercial construction in Baldwin County
- You’re opening or relocating a restaurant, retail space, office, or service business and need the buildout wired
- Your commercial property needs a service upgrade, more amps, three-phase, additional meters
- You’re remodeling existing commercial space and need lighting, outlets, data conduit, or equipment circuits added or moved
- You need parking lot lighting, exterior building lighting, or signage power installed or repaired
What the process looks like
For new construction and buildouts, the process starts with the plans. Jimmy reviews the electrical drawings, walks the site if it’s already framed, and gives the GC or owner a bid that covers the actual scope, no hidden assumptions. Load calculations get done up front, which matters more in commercial than residential. Undersizing a service in a restaurant or retail space causes problems the day you turn equipment on.
Once the job is awarded, Jimmy schedules around the trade sequence. Rough-in goes in after framing and before insulation. Equipment circuits, exhaust hood, walk-in cooler, rooftop unit feeds, all coordinated with the mechanical and refrigeration subs. Trim-out happens after paint and ceiling grid. Final inspection is scheduled with the local jurisdiction. Throughout, Jimmy answers his phone, shows up when he says he will, and keeps the GC informed when something changes on his end.
For service upgrades, the conversation includes Alabama Power early. Anything that changes the service entrance requires their coordination, and Jimmy handles that side of it. He’ll pull the permit, do the upgrade, schedule the inspection, and coordinate the cutover so your business is down for the shortest possible window.
For tenant improvements and remodels, the scope is usually smaller but the schedule pressure is the same. Most commercial tenants want to be operating, not waiting on electrical. Jimmy quotes accurately and stays on the schedule he committed to.
Commercial in coastal Alabama
Baldwin County is growing fast, Fairhope, Daphne, Spanish Fort, Foley, Gulf Shores, Orange Beach. New restaurants, retail centers, medical offices, and mixed-use buildings are going up all the time, and tenants are moving into older buildings that need updated electrical to support modern equipment. Wave Electric works across all of it. Coastal humidity and salt air also mean exterior installs need to be specified with the right enclosures and corrosion-resistant materials. Jimmy specs the right gear for the environment, not the cheapest gear that meets minimum code.
